Jamshid Ebrahimkhani
Jamshid Ebrahimkhani is a Tombak player and Tasnif singer. The Tombak is a classical Iranian percussion instrument, and tasnif is a traditional form of Persian rhythmic vocal composition.
From 1999 to 2003, he studied Tombak under Mr. Bahman Rajabi, a highly influential figure in the development of modern Tombak techniques. After four years of intensive training, he received official permission to teach the Bahman Rajabi method.
Beyond his expertise in percussion, Jamshid has also studied Qajar-era tasnifs with Mr. Farid Kheradmand from 2021 to 2024. His work is deeply focused on Qajar-era rhythmic music, particularly tasnifs. Additionally, he explores historical rhythmic concepts found in Persian manuscripts, particularly within the framework of Iqa (traditional rhythmic cycles).
He has performed in numerous concerts across Iran and Belarus including:
- The Homâyoun duet concert at the University of Art (2002)
- A Tombak solo performance at Shahid Beheshti University (2003)
- A concert with the Art Academy Ensemble under the direction of Master Majid Derakhshani (2008)
- A concert with the “Bidâd” ensemble, featuring vocalist Hossein Alishapour, in Karaj (2009)
He also contributed as a Tombak player to the music album Avaye To in 2010.
