Eflin (2016)

A film by:

Eflin (2016)

Amid the Syrian Civil War, a mother and her child daughter flee the devastation and seek refuge in İzmir, Turkey. Struggling to adapt, the child helps her mother make ends meet while holding onto memories of their home.

Amid the chaos of the Syrian Civil War, young Eflin’s world is turned upside down as bombings and violence shatter her once-peaceful life. Forced to flee her homeland, she and her mother embark on a perilous journey to Turkey, seeking refuge in İzmir. But survival in a foreign land brings its own battles—Eflin must grow up too soon, facing hunger and hardship as she tries to help her mother make ends meet.

Despite the struggles, Eflin clings to the bittersweet memories of her home. Every small reminder of Syria stirs her heart, igniting emotions that make the reality of displacement even harder to bear. Eflin is a poignant story of resilience, love, and the unyielding hope of a child navigating the loss of everything she once knew.
