“Ranger and Leopard” Wins Award at Italian Festival
The Iranian documentary “Ranger and Leopard,” produced by the Jam-e-Jam International Network, recently won an award at the Gran Paradiso Film Festival in Italy. This 21st edition of the festival was held from July 23 to 28 in the Alps. Directed by Fathollah Amiri and Nima Asgari, the film tells the story of Mohammad Reza Halvani, a passionate ranger determined to capture evidence of the Persian leopard in his protected region, despite a lack of prior proof.
This documentary has earned numerous accolades, including the Best Film Award in the People and Nature section at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival in the U.S., Best Directing at the 11th Cinema Vérité in Iran, and the Green Image Award at Japan’s Green Image Film Festival. It has also been featured at the 26th Environmental Film Festival in Washington, D.C., the 21st CinemAmbiente Festival in Italy, the International Big Cat Film Festival in New York, the 7th Silk Road International Film Festival in Ireland, and reached the semi-finals at the 41st International Wildlife Film Festival and the VASSA Wildlife Film Festival in Finland.
The award from the Gran Paradiso Film Festival has caught the attention of the Italian cultural press, further highlighting the film’s success on the international stage.
